STREIP
Streptomyces ipomoeae is soil-borne causing soil rot of sweet potato, producing corky brown lesions on roots. It spreads through contaminated soil or infected plant material. It causes more damage in dry alkaline soils and can survive in soil for long periods. Seed is not a pathway.
