No literture was found indicating seed is a natural pathway for these fungi. (CABI, 2017, for Peronsclerospora spontanea indicates that true seed may transport the fungus without citing any literature.) Like other tropical downy mildews, transmission only occurs when immature seed is planted after harvest.
Drying of seed and storage probably eliminates this risk, if seed pathway is proven.
